Another Defaulted Smear Attempt

In the latest effort to spin the McCains as out of touch, Newsweek has dug up an overdue property tax bill owned by a trust overseen by Mrs. McCain.

Nevermind that they also reported an elderly aunt of Mrs. McCain’s is living in the condo. Nevermind as well that the report says the post office was returning the bills and the bank that manages the trust has not been receiving them. Clearly, it’s just another case of rich people avoiding paying what they owe. So says the MSM who are getting boringly obvious with the same default playbook.

Already leftist blogs such as The Huffington Post, who actually broke the story, are leaving out the details in favor of vague blurbs and shadowy innuendos, concentrated with the word default. A simple Google search of McCain, taxes and default brings up a plethora of the same incorrect charge. However, reading the newsweek story, it seems that the property is not currently in default but may be as of July 1st.

Well, you’re right Newsweek. It is hard to keep track of the bills that need paying when you’re rich. Of course, maybe it’d be a little easier if the rich weren’t responsible for paying all the income taxes of the entire United States.

Yes, we definitely should not trust the family that missed paying a puny tax bill on a property that someone else is living in. Better to trust the family that worked with a convicted real estate felon to purchase their mansion.

Who needs details when you have HOPEANDCHANGE?

McCain for POTUS so the left can't ruin SCOTUS.

and the untold details of the "change."

I live under the consolidated government of Athens-Clarke County in Georgia. Before consolidation was approved in 1990, referenda with the same proposal specified as "consolidation" failed to pass. The change happened when they started using the word "unified." Also, one of the selling points was a promise to "equalize" the disparate public services rates between the city and the county outside of city limits. They equalized the rates, all right...defaulting to the higher of the two in every case.
