McCain in default on house in California per Newsweek

It appears that John McCain and his wife Cindy have been delinquent in paying their property taxes on a house that they own in La Jolla, California, as reported by Newsweek.

According to the article, they paid the bulk of the taxes yesterday, but are still delinquent for taxes going back 4 years.

This looks like it will be an embarrassing, although in my personal view temporary news item about McCain. At the very worst, it may soften the blow for Al Franken as he was delinquent on paying taxes on several states, but I suspect this will blow over within a few days and be ancient history come the fall campaign.

According to a recent AP report, and very little fuzz was made about it by Newsweek, which has connections to Keith's MSNBC, or the lefty blogosphere.

Olbermann is also just some crazy talking head on TV. He's not running for President. I don't see how that should have anything to do with this.

In any event, I don't think it's a big story at all but it's just stupid. When you're running for President, spending hundreds of millions in doing so, shouldn't you be making sure everything in your life is in order? I don't mean to sound too harsh on this, but it's just these silly lapses should not happen and make it tougher for him to label Obama as an elite.

John McCain and the bills were coming back to the county and they didn't attempt to collect via going to the property and putting a notice on the door....which by the way an elderly woman would have then seen the notice and notified the trust!!!!!big story about nothing unless we can question the horrible collection tactics of county.

I think the more interesting story this year is how Barry and Michelle Obama got such a great deal on THEIR house.

Tony Rezko help them out? How does this not smell like Duke Cunningham to the mainstream media? When are they going to pounce on Barry for taking a bribe from a racketeering thug?

Proudly supporting John S. McCain for President (McCain/Romney?)

first of all, when you are behind on your taxes you are NOT considered in default. Second of all, I don't know what county this is in but I don't know of any county that allows taxes to be this far behind. They are normally sold within 18 months and then within 18 months of that the person that bought them takes ownership of the house. This story smells of something wrong.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor
