Republicans looking for a) something to celebrate, and b) something to unite around, need look no farther than Baton Rouge at noon CST today.

I pray that in the future we'll look back on today as the beginning of a new era for Louisiana. The RedState community joins me in offering you our best wishes and good luck, Governor Jindal!
Um, wait, maybe that was hasty...but this is a wonderful new day nonetheless.

I read the interview Rush Limbaugh did with Gov. Jindal, and all I can say is he will be a powerful force in the promotion of solid, conservative Republicanism. His ascent also helps to disprove the big tent notion that has afflicted the Republican establishment for years. The party does not have to go wishy washy populist to attract newcomers, it simply has to have solid conservative leadership that can explain and extoll the virtues of its traditional message. Gov. Jindal is only 36 years old, and he'll hopefully be on the political scene for a long time to come!

I'd certainly consider signing up for that. I'd want to wait a little bit before committing, but the early signs sure are promising.
I'd also want him to pick someone stronger on foreign policy then himself.
But he's certainly going to be a contender in upcoming Presidential elections IMHO.

What ended up happening with the statehouse?
D's hold a slim edge in the House - by 1 or 2 seats, with 2 independents. The House leader should be an R, though.
D's hold the Senate by a wide margin. Committee chairmen include some R's.
LA legislature is not as partisan as you'd think. Leadership often ends up crossing party lines, and the governor(-elect) gets involved in determining the key posts.
Jindal will be calling 2 special sessions, 1 dealing with ethics reform and the other to deal with unraveling some of the state's nonsensical and counterproductive business taxes.

we won't be talking that much about "Reagan/Goldwater Conservatism", we'll be talking about Jindal Conservatism.

Right now, I don't want to jinx the guy with unrealistic expectations. If he can get us from #50 to, say, #45 on some "good" lists (e.g., education) and from #1 to #5 on some "bad" lists (e.g., syphilis & teenage births), he will have hung the moon in my book.

A new day in Louisiana has come! I HOPE he does what I expect him to do and move our state from the bottom of the rankings. Once he accomplishes this HUGE feat, he can focus on the White House. Jindal 2016

I usually don't put much stock in endorsement. It probably would make me change candidates, but it could nudge me one way or another. It would have any effect beyond Louisiana. Of course, if he is as smart as I think, he will wait until the general election.
