Mayor Nagin Finds His Niche

New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin's competence has been the subject of considerable debate ever since Hurricane Katrina. It appears that the good mayor has discovered a Core Competency:
Mayor of New Orleans: "I Am A Vagina-Friendly Mayor"
[Note to Self: Next diary, "I Am a Vagina-Friendly Blogger!"]
Nagin made the remark while welcoming the author of the Vagina Monlogues, Eve Ensler to the city to promote the "V-Day" celebration in New Orleans next month.
Scheduled to appear during 2 days of educational, cultural and entertainment events at the New Orleans Arena and Louisiana Superdome, are Oprah Winfrey, Jane Fonda, Glenn Close, Salma Hayek, Sally Field, Christina Lahti and Faith Hill [...all of whom, by the way, own and operate vaginas. - Ed.].
Ensler says they will celebrate V-Day's 10 years of ending violence in the world.
Mayor Nagin began his comments at the news conference by saying, "How am I gonna stand up and say, I'm a 'vagina-friendly' Mayor to these cameras after 'Chocolate City' and some of the other stuff that I've done. But you know what? I'm in." [emphasis added]
Hey, Ray! How's about using some of them vaginas to end violence in just one neighborhood of that formerly-great city that you purportedly run?
What a buffoon. What a sad, sad buffoon.

'Cause I'm a "vagina friendly" RedStater. I hope one day I get the chance to show him my autographed copy of Eve Ensler's book.
Someone should seriously think about sending him a case of handi-wipes. Maybe the government should pay for it...
it is my personal opinion that Nagin and that entire crowd is insane.
Furthermore we conservative owners and operators wouldn't want to be within 2 states of that place with those femme ninnies there. I'm serious. Gad can these people be any more ludicrous?
You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you.
More of the same, from the NRA-ILA.
As you’ll recall, Nagin and Riley were major players in the travesty that occurred in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. At that time, the dynamic duo’s idea of maintaining order and public “safety” was to instruct police and other law enforcement officers to confiscate lawfully- owned firearms from the city’s citizens, stripping them of their means of self-defense at precisely their time of greatest peril.
But there are a lot of people who aren't who fall under his dominion.
With the possible exception of Marion Barry.

after Katrina and now they wont go back. Thanks to Mayor Nagin, Crime rate in Texas major cities has risen. The drug dealers has shop set up in 36 hours after arrival in Texas, too bad FEMA and the US Govt. did not act as quickly.
I have no argument that Ray Nagin is the most incompetent mayor in the history of this country. But he was the authority primarily responsible for managing his city and protecting its law abiding citizens, and look at what they did.
Yet we continue to give that city money. After Galveston in 1900, the city was completely rebuilt in two years and taht included raising the island 9 feet above sea level, all without FEMA. How did they do it? FEMA has no idea. But DHS Chief Michael Chertoff has a team researching it! Think Boeing is going to build wall/fence for them!
on MSNBC. What a sorry state MSM has become that they need conviucted Drug Addicts for political comments.
Anyone with that kind of baggage that could keep getting elected must know something.

Also the first chocolate president. The two seem to go together.
