On January 26, 1998, then President Bill Clinton went on national TV and brazenly announced lied to the American people claiming he "did not have sexual relations with that woman:"
Context
After repeatedly denying an inappropriate relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky, President Clinton finally acknowledged the affair in grand jury testimony on August 17, 1998.
On September 11, 1998, Kenneth Starr's four-year investigation into the president was made public in a 445-page report.
As a direct result of the Starr report, Bill Clinton became only the second president in American history to be impeached, when the House Judiciary Committee proposed articles of impeachment against President Clinton.
The Senate voted to acquit Clinton of the impeachment charges of perjury and obstruction of justice on February 12, 1999.

who nonetheless preaches to others ? Of course.
As well as to the person who denied any involvement in international bribery, USA for sale, but which fact surfaced anyway. Indeed.
To the leader admired and loved by liberals until he commenced to assault and demonize a fellow Democrat like he routinely did to Republicans? Yes.
To the Bible carrying, church going, serial woman assaulting, draft dodging, pathological lying, cocaine using, race baiting, totally unprincipled human wreck known as Bill Clinton? Who else?
But at least he and Hillary are still in love.
"a man's admiration for absolute government is proportinate to the contempt he feels for those around him". Tocqueville
Nope. Regardless of party affiliation, Bill Clinton was the American President and it was an American disgrace.

I really think that Hillary needs a new campaign song,
Devil in the Blue Dress.
I think it would be great fun to have tons of folks to show up at all her campaign events wearing blue dresses with that very song playing in the background. If not at Shirllies events then at every Slick Willy event. I just think as guerrilla campaigning this would be too too funny.
Bonus points if Bill turns red and points fingers...

What President Clinton said in that statement was absolutely true. He stated, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman....Miss Lewinski."
It was obvious that he was talking directly to Monica Lewinski in that tape. "That Woman" obviously referred to his wife, Hillary Clinton. He was obviously trying to set Monica's mind at rest that he had no feelings for "that woman."
This is probably one of the most misunderstood statements the former President ever made. I mean, it all depends on what the meaning of "is" is.
That was a terrible year in our history in many ways, and the entire matter was tasteless.
I prefer not to think about it (especially since we all had to think about it for so long).
"Do the day's work."
Whenever I think of this episode and 9/11, I automatically give money to conservatives.
the good ole days. Camelot for the 90's.

Vista really sucks!
to explaining what constitutes "sex". My beautiful girls were 8 and 10 that year and now have no idea what "sex" is. Or is it what "is" is? D__n you, Bill Clinton.
Still, you have to give Bill Clinton credit for his resolve to go ahead and tend to, er, the affairs of the nation. I mean, there were women in the late 90's going to bed frustrated!
Wait, South Carolina's humiliating repudiation of Bill Clinton took place exactly 10 years after the "I did not have..." speech by Clinton? The universe is a clockwork mechanism that chimes with irony.
"On September 11, 1998, Kenneth Starr's four-year investigation into the president was made public in a 445-page report."
Three years later to the day, terrorist strike at the heart of NYC. Coincidence, or revenge?
Doffs tin-foil hat.
On the other hand, 8 years of Clintonian weakness doubtless contributed to the perception that we could be cowed by violence.

I don't understand the strange love many Democrats have for Bubba. I think the sands of history are going to be extremely unkind to him - he was at best inconsequential, at worst very damaging to the country.
On the flipside, I believe we'll see our current president vindicated in a way that is sure to enrage liberals... who among them would be willing to take the hard but necessary road, as he's done?
