What's a brother got to do to get a little love around here?  And no, that's not a Tom Athans joke.  I'm talking about Michigan, the Democrat National Committee, the two kids they have pulling hair and name calling in their primary contests and their chairman, Howard Dean.

I guess you can file this one under "OOPS!"

News broke yesterday that some of Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's friends were getting together to form a big fancy legal defense fund.  The taxpayers footed his legal bills the last time the guy was on trial but now that he's facing twelve indictments including eight different felony counts I guess the guy's on his own.

I'm sitting at home yesterday afternoon watching the Wings hang on against a pesky Nashville team when my phone blows up.  It's a text message from a friend. The sort of message that contains startling statements and life altering revelations. The sort of text that'll change the way one looks at the universe from that moment on into perpetuity.

God Bless the Michigan Campaign Finance Network.  There are times they drive me crazy.  They tend to drift into areas of discussion that advocate for the elimination of Constitutionally protected rights from time to time but other than that they're really swell guys.  And when they're on their game they do one heck of a job exposing the dark underbelly of Lansing policy making.
