In Britain, the government is undertaking an effort to make drinking bottled water "as unfashionable as smoking."
Strangely enough, this does not appear to be a joke.

Imagine all of the policy issues that could possibly receive Congress's attention at the present time. There is no need for me to list them. Examples spring readily to mind.
Now, look what one committee in Congress spent their time working on today.
Think you got your tax money's worth? If so, may I introduce you to Art. I, Sec. 8 of the Constitution of the United States? Find where that section of the Sacred Secular Document authorizes and encourages a Congressional discussion of whether and/or when HGH was . . . er . . . gluteally injected into the person of Roger Clemens.

By Pejman Yousefzadeh
But he is dead wrong on the issue written about by John Fund. Legal education seminars are very valuable in that they allow judges to get exposed to differing points of view and help judges come up with better arguments to support existing points of view as well. Trying to shut down legal education seminars merely because the "ideology" promulgated at those seminars is not to the liking of certain Senators is entirely improper and places a chilling effect on the free dissemination of ideas and arguments. Sure, it's the kind of behavior that I would expect of Russ Feingold. But Jon Kyl ought to know better and I am disappointed that he doesn't appear to.
